Yang Fudong at The Parasol Unit

Unfortunately, due to this being a back log of my exhibition antics, this show has been and gone! However, if your not already aware of Yang Fudong's work it really worth seeing in the future. The exhibition featured videos from his latest crop of work, "One Half of August". The crowning jewel of the show was "Fifth Night". It featured seven synchronized video projections of people, alone, slowly exploring the alien streets of Shanghai old town at night. The naivety of the subjects in the urban landscapes gave an almost sedated ambience. Fudong's film's are always beautifully shot, he creates a window into a world to which the viewer can do little but gaze.
